One of the things I have planned to design the supermarket is to find that line between a supermarket you can recognise and an environment that looks creative and interesting. Looking back at the older concept work; I don't think the bright world and interesting products are going to be enough for this project.
First:
I plan to keep the models to their realistic size and weight. This means less curves and out-of-place model design; so when people will be lookinmg at this supermarket; THEY WILL SEE IT AS A SUPERMARKET.
Second:
The textures will play out to the cartoon influen ce of this film; so they will not be realisticly copied from the real objects themselves. They will plain and focusing on one to three colours each; though this may change through testing. Material overcoats to represent the surface may be implemented; but only if it doesn't distract from the look of the final film.
Third:
The objects themselves. The supermarket will have two views; from clean to messy (after the chase). So we're going to need a lot of objects stacked into place to make sure the supermarket is able to be visitable; but we're going to need enough of them to create a messy environment instead of an unconvincing visual.
Fourth:
Obvious products have their own look and design; but the supermarket (temporary known as "Yum N Yum") will have it's own theme and colour. The supermarket is modern; so everything will be shiny and attraction. But the colours chosen are undecided as of yet. We want the supermarket to welcome to ages so we're aiming for a more... peaceful range of colours; ranging towards the white, blue and green range.
Thats all for now. Chao.
